TWISTER - CONTROL ROOM
The Funke collective’s project centers on the notion of political “uncontrollability,” using the figure of the twister as both a destructive force and a catalyst for new ways of seeing. The exhibition is conceived as a fictional control room, with a ventilator tableat its core. One side of the audiovisual installation presents a rapid, nearly illegible flow of contemporary news images from various regions; the other side stages an impossible meeting ground, suggesting the difficulty of reaching consensus on shifting borders and realities. The twister, while a disruptive atmospheric event, is interpreted as a movement that refreshes and reconfigures its surroundings through spiraling motion. As it gathers strength, it mirrors the accumulation of current events. If endured, the disorientation it produces may also lead to renewed clarity and resilience.
